With the effect of COVID-19 in Thailand still in a serious situation – prompting the government to declare a state of emergency throughout the Kingdom of Thailand (effective from 26 March 2020 to 30 April 2020) and introduce a curfew in hopes of reducing the spread of the virus, the SEAMEO Regional Centre for Archaeology and Fine Arts (SPAFA) based in Bangkok, Thailand has decided to comply with the government’s measures on minimizing COVID-19 transmission by extending its ‘Work from Home’ period to 30 April 2020, with the assumption that the COVID-19 situation would have subsided by then.
As with our earlier practice, SEAMEO SPAFA ensures that staff working from home will not disrupt normal work functions with the exception of the SPAFA Library, which will be closed during this period. However, should you require academic material to refer to, please avail to the online SPAFA Journal website (http://spafajournal.org) which houses recent SPAFA Journal articles, past volumes of the SPAFA Journal and other SPAFA publications.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but we also seek your understanding on these ‘Work from Home’ measures and assure you that SEAMEO SPAFA staff are ready and willing to assist during our normal working hours of 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. from Monday to Friday where we can be reached via:

In light of (1) the decision made on 17 March 2020 by the Royal Thai Government concerning the COVID-19 pandemic to implement measures limiting mass gatherings, and (2) the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s announcement on 21 March 2020 of temporary closure of 26 categories of places from 22 March to 12 April 2020, SEAMEO SPAFA office and library will be closed to public and staff will work from home from 23 March until 17 April 2020, with the assumption that the COVID-19 situation would have subsided by then. This is to minimize the chances of COVID-19 transmission.
